JOKER MALWARE: MALWARE THAT TRICKED TO STEAL YOUR MONEY

CISIS Security Group spotted a vulnerability that is used to tricked to steal money, this malware is found on 24 apps that are available on play store.

HOW DOES THIS WORK?

This malware stole money from the user by signing up them for a premium subscription without the user's knowledge.
The hackers have the user's SMS access which contains the OTP authentication also.

“This strategy works by automating the necessary interaction with the premium offer’s webpage, entering the operator’s offer code, then waiting for an SMS message with a confirmation code and extracting it using regular expressions. Finally, the Joker submits the extracted code to the offer’s webpage, in order to authorize the premium subscription,” CISIS TEAM.
